The Leadership Hour: Session 3
Introduction

The Leadership Hour is a unique opportunity to spend quality time, in a small working group, with a South African business leader whose life and leadership example is admired. Twenty carefully invited business leaders, each assisted by a GIBS trained facilitator, will participate in this session.

The working groups, each comprising twenty conference participants, will engage with the leader in the leadership hour. Using the leader's story and their unique experiences, knowledge and insights on leadership as the catalyst, the hour will be a powerful learning opportunity, moving beyond broad theory to the transfer of personal leadership habits and knowledge.

The purpose of this session, as with the rest of the conference, is to learn at close quarters from other leaders. Leadership can be learnt and leaders can be nurtured and developed. When leaders, who inspire, become 'teachers' the transfer of leadership habits (that work in South Africa) is accelerated.

Participation in this session will allow both the 'teacher' and the 'learner' to reflect on their own leadership and to explore new ways to lead, ways that dramatically increase productivity and competitiveness and also the quality of our lives and working experience.

We are honoured that so many of South Africa's finest business leaders have agreed to participate. This session will yield rich leadership lessons and will be the highlight of the 2007 Leadership Champions Conference.
